20 YEARS OF DOTZ
1999. Originally known as a rim brand in South Africa, the four distinctive letters DOTZ changed continents in time for the turn of the millennium. The brand was incorporated into the BBV Beteiligungs GmbH, which is now known as the industrial holding ALCAR. This was also the start for the continuous brand development and expansion process to become a Europe-wide top player in the passenger car aftermarket. Today, DOTZ is an indispensable part of the automotive scene and guarantees the highest quality in a continuously changing automotive sector through further technical developments. Reason enough to take a look at its history.
The DOTZ Brands Hatch, named after the demanding British racetrack, meets the need for a Speed Style Tuning Wheel. The trendy double-spoke wheel in a two-piece look has an extreme deep dish, a striking centre section and is painted high gloss. With its design philosophy "Need for speed", DOTZ Brands Hatch addressed a modern and young tuning audience.
Unique & unmistakable: DOTZ Las Vegas & DOTZ Las Vegas dark - for steady nerves only. Dark rims were absolutely new at that time and real trendsetters in the tuning scene. In addition to the chrome version, DOTZ developed the extreme rim Las Vegas Dark.
The bestseller over many years: DOTZ Imola. As a classic 5 spoke the Imola was to be admired on many cars for a long time. DOTZ Imola was the perfect choice for all of those looking for a harmonious, pleasing design for their vehicle.
In 2008 the time had come. With the DOTZ Hanzo the rim specialist had a hit that is still looking for its equal today. Often copied, never reached. DOTZ's Hanzo is a massive, one-piece rim whose aggressive appearance sends a pleasant shiver down the viewer's spine. The design of the five spokes is reminiscent of a curved samurai sword and immediately catches the eye.
The next milestone in the history of DOTZ marked the year 2010. With the great successes of Brands Hatch, Imola and Hanzo it was only a matter of honour to refine the design and go one step further in development.
The DOTZ Freeride peak: The rim which has been designed with detail optimisation in mind impresses with its stylish and sporty appearance and gives the driver an independent profile. The wheel is the perfect demarcation from the standard mush of a simple rim driving environment.
The DOTZ Tupac combines eccentric lifestyle with extraordinary elegance, aggressive flair with geometric elements. The Tupac - the name stands for "warrior", "fighter" and "messenger" according to its African origin - gets its military design from the five double spokes and the King Size rim bed

2014 was the year - DOTZ built its own noble DRIFTER, the DOTZ DD1.
It is based on a BMW E92 M3 3.3 litre in-line six-cylinder engine with a Rotrex Kopressor turbocharged to deliver 550 hp to the rear axle. Just as convincing are the high quality components of the partners Motul, KW, Falken, K-Sport, Remus, Mishimoto and Festool which turn the DD1 into a racer.
DOTZ Kendo
The Japanese martial art Kendo has its roots in training for sword fighting in the samurai style - but is also considered a special lifestyle. With the DOTZ Kendo aluminium rim the extremely angular double spokes look like swirling blades rotating around the deep-polished middle area during the ride.

It´s 2017: new year, new performance, DOTZ SP5! Welcome to the dark side of power... The new DOTZ design SP5 dark guarantees an aggressive appearance that no one will ever forget.
DOTZ CP5 - concave performance: With the DOTZ CP5 the classic 5-spoke wheel got interpreted quite differently. The rim in graphite matt not only looks larger due to the connection of the spokes to the rim flange but also the specially technically designed centre area with the 5-hole connection, the "smart center", the wheel appear deeper and more powerful on the outside.
Aggressive. Edgy. Tuning. (DD2)
In 2018 the second DOTZ Project Car celebrated its world premiere at the Essen Motor Show. DOTZ installed a 2JZ GTE Toyota engine into the venerable hull of the BMW Z4 Coupé. As far back as the 3l twin turbo engine has been way ahead of its time due to the powertrain’s enormous potential. This extravagant project was triggered by the new release of the BMW Z4 successor and the Toyota Supra. The DD2.JZ had its debut at the Essen Motor Show.
DOTZ Misano - Pushing the limits
The idea for the DOTZ Misano tuning rim comes from the new DOTZ project car DD2.JZ for which a customized concept version of the alloy rim was produced. Deep dish and an open spokes design form the basis. Concave construction is all about achieving maximum depth. Technical expertise and skill allowed DOTZ to accomplish “maximum performance”. Maximum thin spokes pairs, which in the overall composition resemble delicate tuning forks, make the new Misano so unique.
