When 608 hp roar into the pipe
Final release of the DOTZ DD2.JZ video
After the official world premiere of “The Beast” at the 2018 Essen Motor Show, the buzz around the DD2.JZ faded slightly due to the season. Just in time for the beginning of spring, DOTZ delivers on its announcement and presents the final video release of the extravagant tuning machine.
A ghost town comes alive
Where once life was throbbing with gambling kicks, entertainment and hard beats, nothing has been happening at all in the past decades. Consonno, a ghost town in Italy’s northern Lombardy, serves as a unique backdrop for a perfect presentation of the horsepower monster. The ghost town was once intended to become Italy’s Las Vegas. “If you are looking for an exceptional place, in Consonno, you will be rewarded with instant goosebumps,” Christian Haderer, DOTZ DD2.JZ project manager, describes the filming location.
Of adrenaline and palpitations
The sound of “The Beast” made the entire video crew’s hearts race. Further enhanced by the empty buildings, which took in the roaring of the 608 hp and bounced it back with vibrations, an adequate sound stage was guaranteed without having to use any special effects. When stepping on the gas the adrenaline levels exploded – just the right work place for every car freak.

One daredevil takes on the challenge – Dominic Tiroch, formerly Austria’s youngest Formula Masters racer, drift and stunt driver and DOTZ Team Rider. Bold driving manoeuvres are in his blood, and so the tourist attraction that had fallen into a deep slumber, became an arena for bold drifts shrouded in plenty of smoke.
Customized shoes for the monster
As a rim manufacturer, two things come naturally to DOTZ. Firstly, the perfect design. And secondly, 100 percent technically approved solutions. The combination of both results in an accomplished rim concept. Therefore, especially for the project car DD2.JZ, we went the extra mile to reach an optimal solution. The engine-related and body-technical adaptations, once again, called for Christian Haderer’s core competency: a perfect rim design. The result: The DOTZ Misano Concept, a forged concave three-part wheel with maximum depth which is adjusted to the car in every respect, and furthermore, a maturity-phase tuning rim developed from the DOTZ Misano Concept. Maximum thin spoke pairs, which, in their overall composition, resemble delicate tuning forks, make the new Misano exceptional. The DOTZ Misano street version is now available at well-stocked specialist retailers.
