From July 2022 onwards, things will get real for the utility vehicle branch. With the new EU safety regulation ECE 2144/2019 (ECER141), all newly homologised utility vehicles of the N1 to N3, O3 and O4 as well as M2 and M3 classes must be equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring system.

To ensure that all commercial vehicle workshops are well prepared, ALCAR is now launching the new and 100% universally applicable ALCAR Sensor HD (Heavy Duty). The new ALCAR Sensor HD is a universal sensor that can be freely programmed for any vehicle model. The universal utility vehicle sensor is not only programmable for all fitments, but can be adjusted flexibly to all wheel dimensions ranging from 17.5 to 24.5 inches with only one product thanks to an innovative design. Mounting takes place directly on the wheel by using a wheel-band developed for extreme loads.

For programming the sensor, ALCAR offers a commercial vehicle upgrade for the existing ALCAR TECH600 tool. This allows programming or even creating a clone of the existing OE sensor. The new ALCAR Sensor HD for commercial vehicles is available at your local ALCAR dealer now.

The ALCAR TPMS configurator is the perfect support for your TPMS business. The configurator lists all sensor-related information neatly and in detail. You can obtain any kind of sensor number, view car-related relearn procedures and print them out, find service kits and spare valves. Usage of universal sensors (HD)

When using programmable universal sensors, it is strongly recommended that you clone the initial sensors whenever possible to avoid the relearn process.

Auto Learn –Drive the vehicle at a speed above 30 km/h to relearn the sensors.
Depending on the model, number of axles and tires, the relearn procedure can take some time before the pressures are displayed.

OBDII – Read the sensor IDs with a TPMS compatible scan tool. Turn ignition ON (engine off).
Connect the vehicle's OBD interface to a suitable diagnostic device or a suitable TPMS tool. Transfer the sensor IDs to the ECU.

In order to relearn new sensor IDs to the TPMS retrofit system, please observe the instructions and required procedure of the respective system manufacturer.
